Black Friday!

For those of you who may not know this - I am NOT a shopper so the LAST place you will find me is in a store on the busiest shopping day of the year. We opted this year to avoid crowds all together and headed to the hills with some friends to hunt for a Christmas tree. We were thrilled to not only find a tree, but also some snow to play in. We found a tree that was WAY too big for our house (seen here to give you an idea Tim is 6'5" and the tree is a good 4 feet taller than he is - never gonna fit), and opted to trade for a smaller one. It was a great time and very peaceful. The shopping will have to wait for another day for sure...

The girls posing in their Christmas jammies from last year in front of the finished tree product. It is actually not a bad tree ( a few Charlie Brownisms) for a live, fresh one!!

Black Friday!

Aubrey poses on a hillside.
Tim cuts down our tree. Don't worry it was legal we had a permit.
Babies are just naturally attracted to this tall guy!

Thanksgiving at our home...

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving a little differently at our house. We took dinner into the Assisted Living place that our great grandparents now reside. We had great fun with them and feel ever so thankful to have our 91 year old great grandparents doing so well. After the great feast which included 15 people some who even were working on this day, the girls thought it would be fun to put on a play: THE FIRST THANKSGIVING! While I am not sure how accurate of an intepretation it was, they had fun designing the costumes and recruiting the actors to join in. When it was all said and done, they had actors varying in age from 4 to 91 in the play! It was a great day for all to be had...

Give Thanks!

The girls pose with their Oregon relatives (originally from Thailand who still are getting the hang of this Thanksgiving thing...) and their favorite GG!!
Papa posing as a Pilgrim was a good sport and took part in the great production!

The First Snow

Aubrey catches a snowflake or two!
Waking up to snow - can't think of a better way to start a day!
Early this last week we were treated to an early snowfall. The flakes were so big and fat. Aubrey could not resist going out to check it out - in pj's and barefoot I will add! Of course, in true Idaho fashion the weather quickly changed and the snow melted away as fast as it appeared.

We have added a new member to the pet family!

We adopted a kitten this week into our family. She is 10 weeks old, and we have decided to name her Tiger Lilly - we call her Lilly for short. We have all fallen completely in love with her. She is the most lovable kitten I have ever owned. She is most happy sitting on a lap being held. As a side note, we have found a new home for Buddy. He will be missed (sometimes not so much), but I want all the dog lovers to know I have found him a great new home. He will be moving in with a single lady who has two dogs now and is looking to adopt a third. She is really excited about him, and we are really happy with his new home. To his credit, even he loves the new kitten!

Fun fall in Idaho!!

We have enjoyed a wonderful fall this year with pretty great weather, and as you can see the girls have made the most of it all: the leaves, the pumpkins, the parties, the costumes. We have hit them all and feel very blessed to live in such a beautiful state.
I spy... a 4 year old amongst a huge pile of leaves...
I don't even want to think of how many hours we spent raking leaves (this was one of many great piles). Of course, our "helpers" did contribute to some of this work.

Taylor's field trip to the pumpkin patch was in her own words "the worst field trip ever." We got caught in the worst rain storm I have even been in - we were soaked to the bone!
Aubrey's class party for Halloween. Love it!!

Halloween 2007!!

Yo ho Yo ho!! A pirates life for me. Taylor went as the cutest pirate this year - although much to her dismay she was often mistaken for a gypsy.
Her parrot was the inspiration for her wanting to be a pirate this year! He, of course, made the rounds in trick or treating with us.
Aubrey opted to be Clifford the Big Red Dog. She makes an awfully cute dog too!
Complete with tail and wag...

In case anyone was in doubt, this pirate does come with some attitude!
This could be Buddy's last Halloween as a Harris - he may not miss the ridiculous bee costume, but I think he may miss his girls. He is going to a good home though - I promise.
The LOOT!!! Enough sugar to rot out an entire mouthfull of teeth I assure you.
Our favorite people to trick or treat with of course!!
