It has been a very interesting past few days in the Harris house - to say the least!! We found a major water leak coming from our dishwasher and leaking into the underside of our tile floor this last Saturday. It was only found because I was standing on the tile and noticed it coming up underneath the floor. An emergency crew was brought in and as they started ripping out the tile the damage became bigger and bigger and bigger... That would be my oven standing in the middle of the floor in case you are wondering.
This is what the subfloor looked like as they ripped out the tile. You can see the water line creeping towards the kitchen cabinets. Not good!!!
The blue thing on the floor is one of three fans brought in that are VERY loud and have to run 24/7 for the next 3 days to dry out the subfloor. It is like a wind tunnel in our house - we all talk a little louder and say "huh??" a lot!!

CRAZEEE! Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that! The chant of "new kitchen, new kitchen, new kitchen" hopefully is helping you to get through this very painful part of the latest discovery! How long do they think the leak has been there? Oh dear!
Oh my! Sorry to hear about your kitchen woes! What a mess! I'll keep my fingers crossed that the insurance helps foot the bill! In the mean time - enjoy eating out and have fun redecorating! One must look at the silver lining of the very big water stain!
